About

Joost de Kok is a painter and muralist based in the Amsterdam area. He has followed his education at the Willem de Kooning academy in Rotterdam, and subsequently fulfilled a 6 month curriculum at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.

His work is characterised by an academic approach of art, having a lot of attention for human anatomy, technique and materials. It is part of his practice to learn from the old masters in the history of art and build on their knowledge and expertise of drawing and painting.
